Our Story
Tri-Pro Physical Therapy was founded in September of 2016 by Dr. Shonda Robinson, Dr. Kulwant Kaur, and Dr. Ruchita Patel. Dr K and Dr Ruchie met while in PT school at UMDNJ. The two met Dr. Shonda at their first physical therapy job at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute. The 3 immediately hit it off. Through multiple, intense conversations, they decided that it was time to venture out on their own to create a physical therapy facility and brand. They wanted a place where they could provide the best of care in a comfortable and loving environment in their own way.
It all started in the basement of Dr. K’s house where ideas were shared. It took long hours, late nights, ideas that worked, ideas that didn’t work and a name change. After a year of intense planning with multiple home meetings, Tri-Pro PT (TP|PT) in Edison, NJ was built. Starting off small with one suite we quickly expanded, adding on a neighboring space to accomodate for our growing clientele. We are a testament that starting off small can lead to big things. Our growth is constant and we are always working towards the next step.
Here at TP|PT we are devoted to creating a memorable physical therapy experience. A place where people can receive quality individualized care in a warm, caring, and supportive environment. At any given moment you can find our patient’s being cheered on by our team as well as other patients. Our patient’s overall health including mental health is our top priority. We love to create a social environment and our patients have said that it feels like a social club rather than coming to therapy. Not only are our patients of utmost importance, we also highly value our employees who are like family to us. We use the term “team” versus “staff” because in order to achieve our business goals and our patient care goals it takes a collective effort from everyone involved. Our team has undergone intensive training and are encouraged to allow their individual personalities to shine.
Tri Pro Physical therapy is committed to our patients and our team . Our mission is to provide quality, individualized and current evidence based treatments to our patients. As well as to incorporate versatile, creative methods to facilitate the achievement of goals. We value our patients and extremely appreciate that they trust us with their care at some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives.
I highly recommend Tri-Pro. I was in a lot of back and neck pain. I’m so impressed with how Dr. K was able to help me in a few sessions… Read Full Review on Google

In 2015, she became certified in Pelvic Rehabilitation, earning the PRPC (Pelvic Rehabilitation Practitioner Certification) distinction. Since then, she has continued to work in the field of pelvic health, focusing on the unique needs of male, female, and gender-diverse clients.
In 2019, Dr. Lauren uprooted her life and crossed two bridges, moving to the Garden State! She misses Brooklyn pizza and bagels, but appreciates all the space and availability of parking New Jersey has to offer. She continues to seek out learning opportunities with additional coursework in Visceral Mobilization, Craniosacral Therapy, Trauma-Informed care, and Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM).
Dr. Lauren also treats a variety of patients with orthopedic, neurological, and geriatric conditions. To keep herself sane, she dabbles in adult arts & crafts, most notably “quilling,” (the art of paper-coiling).
