Dr Shonda Robinson is a board certified licensed Physical therapist in New Jersey She is one of 3 partners of Tri-Pro Physical Therapy. She graduated from Temple University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Psychology. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Seton Hall university in South Orange NJ. Her passion for helping others started at young age. She she was inspired by her mother who was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis when she was around 3 years old. This led her to the Physical Therapy Profession. Dr. Shonda has worked in a variety of Physical therapy settings, including outpatient rehab, inpatient rehab, acute care, and home care physical therapy. She has worked with children as young as 2 months to our senior population. Dr Shonda has had the opportunity to be a guest professor and taught “Principles Of Modalities” for Seton Hall DPT program.
Dr Shonda has a comprehensive approach to treatment. She strongly believes in treating the whole body as a complete system. She combines her knowledge of psychology, anatomy and physiology and kinesiology to create treatment approaches that highlight the importance of the mind and body relationship and how it affects overall health, wellness and healing. She loves the challenge of getting to the core of a patient’s symptoms to help them achieve their goals. She is an anti-cookie cutter PT. She loves to incorporate creative treatment methods such as cupping, taping, lymphatic drainage and manual therapy with traditional PT treatment methods.
She describes herself as “social-introvert”. When she is in her element she loves talking to people about random topics and discussing serious issues like reality TV. At the same time, she loves her “ME time”. Dr. Shonda is a jet setter and is passionate about travelling and seeing the world. Her list of favorite places in the world keeps getting bigger. In between adventures, she loves hanging out at home, curling up on the couch with her husband watching true crime dramas, horror movies, documentaries and comedies. Family is very important. She also loves spending time and caring for her mother and grandmother and the rest of her family.
